When the very first board of Rotex International was elected, they encountered a very simple-sounding, yet a very responsible and demanding task to create a structure to a brand new Rotex International and raise awareness of Rotex within the whole Rotary family.
The first board started their work by creating the roles for each board member with a different area of focus. This was a way to utilize the strenghts and expertise of every board member. It was also a way to make sure that workload for everyone was manageable and that everyone had their responsibilities within the board.
In addition, Hans Shang Han Lee, Sophie Ritcher and Helen Salminen from the first board participated in the Rotary International Convention in Atlanta, USA in 2017. During this convention, Rotex International had the opportunity to present and raise awareness of Rotex and its new organization Rotex International. This conference has been one of the most important events for the first board of RXI and for the future of the entire organization.
During the first board’s terms the work also included creating the mission statement of RXI, the logos and the basic documents to support the Rotex associations worldwide, such as how to found a Rotex association and the Code of Honor. This structure created by the first board of RXI still works as the basis of the current board and has helped the subsequent boards to build Rotex International to its current state.
